Decisions...Decisions (Blog 12)

Hello everybody! Do you all remember my blog from last week? The one where I was deciding whether I should continue with The Good Thief or not? Well, I have made my decision. I have decided to continue with the book and give it a second chance. After all, people (and books) usually deserve second chances. Am I right? So here Is why I chose to continue with it:

  • I don't know what else to read
  • I need to get some more reading in regardless
  • It is actually a good book it is just a little slow at the moment
  • I really like Ren's character and want to seem him become more developed
So now that I have told you all my reasons why, I am going to make sure I stick with this book, no matter how slow it gets. In addition, I am going to make a goal to read 60 pages this week to catch up on my reading. It might be hard, but I am willing to pull through to get so much reading and blogging in. Wish me luck, and keep on reading and blogging!

  1. I can totally agree with you when you say you really want to abandon a book, but just can’t. For me, that book was Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks. It was such a bad book (well, compared to his others), but I felt like I had already invested so much time into it, I just HAD to finish it. I also can relate to you when you see the bright side of things, like with your list of reasons to keep reading The Good Thief. I always like to make a pros and cons list when making a sort-a-big decision. Anyways, I hope you can prevail and finish the book, too!

  2. I think everyone has read books that they want to abandon but cannot because of how much they are already invested into the story. The only bad part of giving substandard books second chances is that you have to blog about them, and it's hard to blog about a book that isn't very good in the first pace. I liked how you used the crossed out words and list of reasons to keep reading in the blog post because they conveyed a lot of information in a few words.

  3. I love how you're being completly honest with why you're reading this still (haha especially your first bullet point). Also, who knows, maybe this book will end up being one of your favorites!
